SPORTS CORNER (CBSE Movements)

In the month of December 2019 various activities were organized first at school level and the selected entries were uploaded to be judged at Regional level.

CBSE story telling competition was organized for classes 3 to 12 in various subjects and selected 4 entries were uploaded.

Under the ARYABHATTA GANIT challenge (Classes VI- X) 198 students were registered. These students took the exam sent by CBSE. There marks were uploaded best three students from classes IX & X have been registered for second level exam.

Under CBSE Expression series on water conservation various activities such as poster making Essay writing, story writing competitions were organized for classes III to XII. Selected entries in essay writing, story writing and painting competitions were uploaded.

To create awareness among students about Environmental protection BAL VIKAS SCHOOL has taken various initiatives to mobilize students for adopting measures to conserve water school has started a water conservation club named JAL SENA. Members of JAL SENA monitored the wastage of water in the school premises.

On the occasion of annual sports meet, Exhibition was held on the topic ”ENVIRONMENT CONSERVATION” students presented the models based on RAIN WATER HARVESTING DRIP IRRIGATION, CLEAN CITY & RENEWABLE SOURCES OF ENERGY.

800 plants were distributed among the students and they were made aware about the benefits & needs of plants.

Various competitions like poster making, story writing, slogan writing were also held from time to time in the school.

To generate awareness about waste disposal ‘Best out of Waste’ activity was conducted.

To inculcate water conservation habits among students they were asked to perform a following relevant activity ”SAVING ONE LITRE OF WATER EVERYDAY AT HOME AND IN THE SCHOOL”.

DAY ONE

PHYSICAL FITNESS ….YOGA

Surya Namaskar or Sun Salutation is a sequence of 12 powerful yoga poses. Besides being a great cardiovascular workout, Surya Namaskar is also known to have an immensely positive impact on the body and mind.
Besides good health, Surya Namaskar also provides an opportunity to express gratitude to the sun for sustaining life on this planet.

(1) Helps maintain cardiovascular health
(2) Stimulates the nervous system
(3) Helps in stretching, flexing and toning the muscles
(4) Excellent exercise for weight loss management
(5) Strengthens the immune system

DAY TWO

Activity one: FREE HANDS EXERCISES

Free hands exercises: In the morning assembly on day two the students of various classes III to X practiced various hand exercises.


The benefits of these exercises are
(1) Keep the joints healthy.
(2) Build grip strength.
(3) Improve hand endurance.
(4) Improve dexterity.
(5) Help in joint related diseases like arthritis, osteoarthritis, etc.
(6) Build and improve forearm muscles.

Activity 2: MENTAL FITNESS COUNSELLING

Mental fitness is fundamental to drive positive lifestyle changes and is also a strong predictor of physical health. Improved mental fitness motivates us for positive lifestyle.

DAY THREE

Activity 1: BEGINNING OF FITNESS ASSESSMENT OF STUDENTS THROUGH KHELO INDIA APP

REGISTRATION TO FIT INDIA APP DONE BY THE SCHOOL. ASSESSMENT TAKEN THROUGH THE APP.

Activity 2: POSTER MAKING COMPETITION FOR ALL STUDENTS ON THEME” FIT BODY-FIT MIND”

DAY FOUR

ACTIVITY 1: PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES FOR ALL STUDENTS


ROPE SKIPPING
This event was organized in the school play ground on day four for stamina building. Skipping is the best and the most simple way to burn calories.


AEROBICS
This event included Stepping (for Cardio Respiratory Endurance), Pushups (for Muscular Strength), Stretching exercises to improve flexibility. This musical exercise was real fun for the students.

MARTIAL ARTS
This event was organized to teach students self defense, entertainment and preservation of a nation’s intangible cultural heritage.

Activity 2: ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION ON THE TOPIC ‘FIT INDIA SCHOOL’

Sports Quiz was conducted on Fitness and Sports news with all the students.

Activity 1
Pitthhu
: Last but not the least this fun filled South Indian game was organized on day six. Also known as Lagori involved a ball and a pile of flat stones (which were stacked on top of each other). One member of a team threw the ball at the stack to knock the stones over. The team then tried to restore the pile of stones while the opposing team ( known as the hitters) threw the ball at them to defeat them one by one.
